Jeremiah 2:13-15

¹³ For My people have committed two evils.
They have forsaken Me,
    the fountain of living waters,
and hewed out for themselves cisterns,
    broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
¹⁴ Is Israel a servant? Is he a homeborn slave?
    Why has he been plundered?
¹⁵ The young lions roared at him
    and roared loudly,
and they made his land a waste;
    his cities have been destroyed, without inhabitant.
